Unforgettable Autumn Adventure: Trip to the High Tatras Mountains

During the weekend of 18–19 October 2025, Placement Slovakia and our group of enthusiastic interns set out on an unforgettable autumn adventure to the High Tatras. What awaited us was a perfect blend of sunshine, early snow, breathtaking nature, delicious Slovak food, and shared moments that turned into lasting memories.

Our first highlight was the hike to the iconic Skok Waterfall. The trail welcomed us with crisp mountain air and a mix of glowing autumn colors sprinkled with the first snow of the season. The weather could not have been better—bright skies, warm sunshine, and the refreshing contrast of snowy patches along the way. Reaching the waterfall felt rewarding for everyone, offering a stunning view of the cascading water framed by rugged peaks.

After the hike, we enjoyed a scenic cable car ride to Predné Solisko, which gave us a new perspective of the Tatras’ dramatic landscape. From the top, we admired panoramic views stretching across the mountain range, feeling both the thrill of high altitudes and the calm of the surrounding nature.

Another magical moment was our walk to the Tatra's Tower—considered one of the best viewpoints in the area. The combination of crisp air, peaceful atmosphere, and the stunning mountain panorama created an ideal backdrop for photos, conversations, and quiet appreciation of nature’s beauty. We wrapped up our outdoor adventures at Štrbské pleso, the famous alpine lake. Its calm waters mirrored the mountains and sky, offering a peaceful moment to rest, chat, and take in the scenery before heading back.

Of course, our weekend wasn’t only about hiking and sightseeing. We also enjoyed delicious Slovak traditional meals, from hearty soups to comforting classics that warmed us after the chilly mountain walks. In the evening, we had a party filled with music, laughter, fun and great conversations. It was a chance to connect, relax, and celebrate the days together.

Whether we were hiking, eating, laughing, or simply enjoying each other’s company, the weekend was filled with moments that brought us closer. The combination of nature, adventure, food, and friendship made this trip truly special.

Our High Tatras adventure left us with not just beautiful photos, but wonderful memories and stronger friendships—a perfect reminder of why shared experiences matter.
