Khrystyna Bazyuta, a student at Ternopil National Technical University from Ukraine, came to Bratislava twice for internships: first as a Finance Controller Intern and, the second time, as a financial auditor at multinational companies.
Khrystyna had open and supportive colleagues both times around her throughout her internship, which helped her have a better experience:
“They supported me in any situation, and helped to cope with all difficulties”
The most important part is that our interns gain experience in working on real tasks and take on real responsibility. Khrystyna described her first role in auditing as following:
"Working in audit means covering a lot of different areas of the audit process, I was the one who dealt with revenues. My responsibilities included checking the financial statements, the authenticity of invoices and various stages of verification."
While the second role helped her gain even more experience in finance field:
“I learned how to calculate short-term and long-term funding requirements to ensure the liquidity of the company and the allocation of the relevant funds in the company's treasury in consultation with management, Monthly liquidity and interest rate analysis in accordance with the guidelines of the company”
Besides work, there was a wonderful opportunity to explore Slovakia and experience a new culture. For Khrystyna, the country was similar to Ukraine, however there were still some differences.
“Slovakia is an incredible country with a rich culture, understanding people and beautiful places. My favourite thing about Slovakia is that it’s very similar to Ukraine in terms of culture. But there are some differences, like people are more open-minded, good location right in the middle of Europe and a lot of opportunities to travel. And having spent a year and a half in Slovakia with my two internships, it started to feel like home.”
At the same time, the most pleasant experience was visiting new places and building connections with others:
"The most pleasant part was a lot of traveling, making new friends, discovering new places in Bratislava"

As advice for interns, Khrystyna shared that newcomers shouldn't forget that, beyond work, the internship is also a great opportunity to make connections:
"Do not forget that in addition to work, this internship is also a good opportunity to socialize and make good friends"
We are glad to have had Khrystyna as an intern through our program and wish her success in her further plans.
