Mariia from Ukraine: from an internship to a job offer in the big multinational company.

Mariia, a student at Alfred Nobel University from Ukraine, got an internship as a Marketing Intern, which eventually led her to getting a job offer in a big international company. However at the beginning she arrived with a common concern, as all other students do — adapting to a new environment and starting her first role at a multinational company. 

It is always difficult to adapt to a new working environment, but with the clear onboarding process and support from colleagues the experience is always easier. So, everything was fine for Mariia in the end:

"Before arriving, I was mainly concerned about adapting to a new environment and starting a job in an international company. Everything turned out very well, and I quickly felt comfortable thanks to the support I received."

"I received support from my mentor and colleagues. They were always approachable, provided valuable guidance and feedback, and encouraged me to take on new responsibilities."

As a Marketing Intern, Mariia's role was broad and dynamic. It included working in the international team, coordinating projects and collaborating with the stakeholders. Every task made its contribution for the professional and personal growth. 

"I coordinated communication and projects across international teams, managed the translation and publishing of marketing materials, prepared presentations and internal communication content, supported leadership meetings, and collaborated with stakeholders to ensure projects were delivered accurately and on time."

This experience gave her a range of useful skills, which can be applied for the career development.

"I strengthened my project coordination, communication, and organizational skills by working with international teams on various marketing initiatives" 

Previous experience, new skills, and preparation that Mariia got, were of paramount importance in landing a new position as an employee.

Besides work, there is an excellent opportunity to explore the culture of Slovakia and its surroundings. That was particularly what Mariia did - she explored the country, got to know more about the life in Slovakia and met new people with different walks of the life. 

"One of the most interesting things about Slovakia was its beautiful nature and the balance between city life and access to the outdoors. I also enjoyed experiencing the local culture and meeting people from different backgrounds."

She made the most of her free time — exploring nearby cities, attending cultural events, spending time with friends, and traveling to neighboring countries whenever she could.
