Anastasia from Germany: ,,This experience helped me grow in many ways."

Back

,,During my internship, I worked as a Project and Quality Operations Intern in the Customer Engagement Centre. My main responsibilities included supporting ongoing projects, learning about vendor and call centre management, and helping ensure smooth operations within the team.

Throughout the experience, I grew in many ways — both professionally and personally. I learned how to work productively in a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and take responsibility for my own projects.

One of the best parts of the internship was the support from my mentor. She guided me every step of the way and taught me so much. I also really enjoyed spending time with other interns — chatting during breaks, sharing experiences, and forming friendships that made my time at work even more enjoyable.

Of course, there were challenges too. When my mentor went on vacation, I suddenly found myself responsible for all our projects. It was a little overwhelming at first, but it turned out to be one of the most valuable learning moments of my internship.

Looking back, I believe this internship programme from Placement Slovakia is a great opportunity to connect with a company, gain real work experience, and make amazing friends along the way."

Living in Bratislava

,,Before coming to Slovakia, I didn’t know much about the country and Bratislava itself — I mainly chose it because company's office was located there. But after spending time in Bratislava, I can honestly say I’d definitely recommend it! I loved the city and everything it had to offer.

Since I didn’t have any expectations before arriving, nothing really surprised me — except maybe how modern it was! There are so many new buildings, shopping centres, and great places to explore.

One of my favourite spots was Tyršák, a place near the Danube river, where I spent a lot of time relaxing and meeting friends. I also loved Nivy Shopping Centre, especially the Form Factory gym inside — I went there regularly and would absolutely recommend it.

Bratislava is also full of amazing cafés and restaurants. Some of my top picks are Soren and Kep’s (the croissants there are a must!). For food, I really enjoyed Oggi, Le Due Sicilie, Burger Bar, and Pad Thai Wok Bar."

Favourite moments

,,Some of my favourite memories from my time in Slovakia were the summer party, evenings spent at Tyršák, and the trips I took with my roommate. Those moments made the whole experience even more special.

The internship also taught me a lot — not just professionally, but personally too. I learned how to live independently after my old roommate moved out, how to find a good work-life balance, and how to manage my time and responsibilities. On the professional side, I picked up many practical skills, including working with Excel and various internal systems used at Lenovo.

I would definitely recommend the experience itself, as well as the company and the city of Bratislava. The internships by Placement are a great opportunity — especially for people who might find it hard to get work experience in their home countries.

What I loved most, though, was meeting so many great people through the programme and living with other interns. Those connections and friendships made my time abroad truly unforgettable."

After the internship, Anastasia continues with her studies. The Placement Slovakia team wishes you continued personal and professional growth, along with the confidence to embrace new challenges. We hope you’ll always look back on your internship in Slovakia with great memories!
