After graduating in International Relations at Loyola University Seville, Patricia Rodríguez Pastor took a bold step and moved 3,000 kilometers away from home to Bratislava, Slovakia. Through the Placement Slovakia program, she had the chance to join the e-commerce department at Lenovo, where she gained invaluable international experience.

During her internship, Patricia worked on campaigns to attract new buyers, prepared weekly reports, optimized the CRM process, and supported new projects within her team. She especially valued collaborating with colleagues from France, Italy, Germany, India, and other countries, describing it as “the best part of the experience — working side by side with such a diverse team really felt like International Relations put into practice.”

Living in Bratislava turned out to be a rewarding surprise. Patricia enjoyed the city’s vibrant atmosphere and its central location in Europe, which allowed her to explore nearby countries such as Austria, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic on weekends. She also discovered that Slovakia offered strong career opportunities for young people with language skills, with many global companies — like Lenovo, Amazon, and Allianz — actively hiring international talent. As she explained: “In Slovakia, young people with foreign languages are highly valued professionally, which opened many doors for me.”

Thanks to Placement Slovakia, Patricia was able to combine her academic background with practical experience in a leading multinational. Reflecting on the opportunity, she shared: “This internship was an amazing experience — it combined all the benefits of an Erasmus with the professional growth that comes from working in a large multinational.”

We are proud to have supported Patricia on this journey and to provide opportunities that help young talents grow both personally and professionally.
