Yash sharing a few words about his 1st traineeship with Placement Slovakia

Back

We usually have trainees who come to Slovakia for 5 or more months, but Yash is the 1st one who originally came to do a 6 months long traineeship and liked it so much, that he decided to do the 2nd one almost right after that, again with Placement Slovakia, on the same position and in the same company! Having a short 1 month break between the two traineeships, to visit his family, Yash recently came back to Slovakia and is now enjoying work and Spring in Bratislava. Below you can read an interview about his first traineeship on a position of a Logistics trainee in Slovakia.

1, How did your story first begin and why did you decide to take an Erasmus+ internship in Slovakia?
I was told by my friend Shivam about this internship and I decided to try it because the company was good and could get a different and a better exposure in these companies.

2, Can you tell what responsibilities the company gave you at work?
I was given several responsibilities such as processing claims, making some reports, tracking about logistics movement of the parts, give updates of the stock in the warehouse, working in the Reverse Department for some work. I Was also taught in forward logistics how the movement works and runs.

3, What skills did you improve the most during your traineeship?
I improved many skills like communication in the corporate life, learned some computer skills, learned many good things from the activities as well.

4, What were your expectations and were they met?
The exepectations were not that high but after working I think I learnt many other things more then what i thought. So, it was a good option for me to choose to work in Slovakia.

5, Were there any tasks given to you that you had no idea how to complete? If so, how did you solve it?
Yes, there were very few but I was given an overview how to do it and I pretty much managed to complete it.

6, How did you find out about our programme and how would you evaluate our assistance provided during your period here?
I think the programme is good and is managed in good way so I had no problems at all with providing a room to live and many other things managed nicely. So, I think it is a good thing to explore in Slovakia and enjoy.

7, Do you have any suggestions or improvements to our placement programme?
Not as such to make it better I think it is at its best.

8, What do you think of the life-style in Slovakia?
The lifestyle is good but a little bit dissapointed in interaction with unknown people but rest it was a good and a different experience.

9, What did you find as the most different from your usual environment, country? Was there any culture shock?
Yeah, the unknown people are a bit unfriendly and do not usually like talking to foreigners. Rest it was completly perfect.

10, What did you like the best here in Slovakia?
The location of Slovakia is perfect as everything is nearby, many countries are nearby and work was good with good colleagues.

11, Did you have any work or social difficulties during your stay in Slovakia? If so, how did you solve them?
No

12, Did you have enough time to travel and explore Slovakia and neighbouring countries? Which places did you visit and what left the biggest impact on you?
I usually did not have much time but on the weekends it is very easy to explore the nearby places and countries so a very good location for the country.

13, Which moment of your stay in Slovakia has been the most memorable for you?
Well, I have many but the best was in the Christmas time in my company having many events and things going on around the city which made me feel like Christmas has come. So, those days were memorable.

14, What are your future plans after finishing the internship?
After finishing my internship I have to write my Masters thesis.

15, Is there anything you would like to say to students still deciding whether or not to do an internship in Slovakia?
It is a good opportunity for students who love working and exploring many countries at the same time. There is a lot to see and many different things to observe. Maybe you can enjoy your best out of it working and exploring the city and nearby places at the same time. So this could be fun and can be more beautiful as you might not expect much out of it.
