If you want to make a good impression, you should continue reading to get some first-hand advices.

Responsibility
It happens many times that the student is not available at the scheduled time for an interview. Why? Time zone. We always mention the time zone in the invitation email, so candidates must pay attention to the time and date of the interviews. Some countries have a different time zone, so it is recommended to double check it. In case it happens, you should write an e-mail to explain why you were not available and ask if it is possible to reschedule another Skype interview.
Preparation
It doesn’t give a nice impression if it is obvious from your answers that you did not prepare for an interview and especially if you do not know what you want to do. Carefully review your CV, practice some questions about yourself and think about why you should be the one selected for the position. We need to know that. It is also absolutely recommended to search some objectives, requirements and history about the company or programme that you are applying to (e.g. web page, Facebook profile or articles about it). This could be your biggest opportunity, do not miss it.
The dress-code
It is sexy to wear a bikini or a tank top, but of course, it is not how you should dress up for an interview. Try to dress according to the company that you are going to work for. In some cases, dressing casual is more than enough. Other times you need to go further and dress formally.
The Spot
Avoid doing a skype interview in a public places like a coffee shop or a shopping centre with a lot of noise in the background. You should choose a quiet place with a good internet connection. Also, if you are going to use your mobile device for an interview, please check if you have enough battery.
Lack of curiosity
“Do you have any questions? NO, thank you”. After the interview, you really need to be clarified about pretty much everything. Do not be afraid of asking important questions that you might have, not questions about something that is written at the webpage in capital letters. Being curious reveals that you are really interested in the position and it will prevent you to send emails after the interview asking about some topics that could be clarified during the interview.
