Belén Rodríguez-Caso López, from Spain, shares her internship expreience

Belén Rodríguez-Caso López, a student at Universidad Loyola Andalucía from Spain, came to Bratislava for her internship as a Corporate Training Analytics Intern. 

Before she came to Slovakia for the internship, she had some familiar worries that many people have when starting a new job, about fitting in with her team and performing her tasks well.

“I had some concerns about work, like people in my team or not being able to perform the tasks correctly.” 

However, those concerns didn’t last long. Belén shared that her colleagues supported her along the way and helped with any questions she had:

“Everyone was very nice and supportive, always willing to help.” 

Additionally, one common problem students have is a lack of hands-on experience. Internships are helpful in this situation, as they let students use theoretical knowledge in practice. Belén shared the same experience here: 

“Before this internship, I had mainly studied these topics at university, but here I was able to see how they are applied in a real business environment. I learned how training sessions are organized, how feedback is collected and analyzed, and how different teams work together to support employees.”

The most important part is that our interns gain experience in working on real projects, improve their skills and learn modern business tools. Belén described her responsibilities as following:

“I worked on analyzing and processing feedback from training sessions … communicating with sellers, sending emails, and coordinating meetings. Additionally, I contributed to two projects, Letter AI and the reorganization of the internal tool Catamap”

Besides work there is a wonderful opportunity to explore Slovakia and experience new culture. For Belén, there is a noticeable difference between Slovakia and her home country, Spain:

“Everything feels a bit more calm and organized, especially in the city. Another thing I noticed is the culture and the way people interact, which feels more reserved at first but still very friendly once you get to know them. The weather and the winter season were also quite different from Spain, which was a new experience for me.”

At the same time, the most pleasant experience was meeting new people and gaining experience in a multinational company. So, for the future plans, Belén is planning to continue building her career in a big company.

As advice for interns, Belén shared that it is always better to come for this opportunity, as it is worth it.
