Florian from France shared his internship experience

Back

Florian Casagrande, from France, came to Bratislava for his internship as a Customer Support Trainee.

Before he came to Slovakia for the internship, he had already travelled quite a bit, so unlike many trainees, he didn't arrive with particular worries:

“I had already travelled a lot before, so I wasn't really afraid of anything.”

That confidence paid off, as Florian found an awesome, upbeat team around him from day one:

“Team is awesome! Every time available with a good mood.”

Additionally, one common problem students have is gaining real exposure to professional, industry-specific language. Internships are helpful in this situation, as they let students build this kind of practical vocabulary while working in an international setting. Florian shared the same experience here:

“Most of the professional language was new for me so for sure I got a lot of skills on it, as well as the experience in an international company.”

The most important part is that our interns gain experience in working on real tasks and take on real responsibility. Florian described his role as following:

“Processed orders for the UK branch. Sent quotes to customers. Checked the availabilities. Answered calls from customers from the UK. Worked in collaboration with the Warehouse and Salespersons.”

Besides work, there is a wonderful opportunity to explore Slovakia and experience new culture. For Florian, the country's mountains and hearty cuisine left the biggest impression:

“I liked Slovakia's mountains! For sure a lot! The heavy food as well ahah.”

At the same time, the most pleasant experience was discovering different parts of the country, like the High Tatras and Košice. So, for his future plans, Florian wants to find an international job in another country.

As advice for interns, Florian shared that newcomers should travel inside and around the country to form their own opinion of local life.

We are glad to have had Florian as an intern through our program and wish him success in his future plans.
