Two Interns, One City, Countless Memories — Léa & Jean's Experience

Back

Léa in a role of Project Analyst Intern

Léa sums up her internship in just three words: Discovery, Creativity, Smile. It's a description that perfectly captures both her personality and the experience she had as a Project Analyst Intern. She found Placement Slovakia through her school's internship portal and applied with an open mind — and she got much more than she bargained for.

In her role, Léa worked primarily as a channel data analyst on the IDG (devices) side of the business. Her main focus was updating and creating reports that transformed raw data into clear, actionable insights for business developers and sales teams.

It was hands-on, meaningful work that sharpened her technical skills across data manipulation and gave her a real window into how a large organisation operates — from sales results to business improvement, and the interplay between development and sales functions.

"The internship helped me improve my technical skills in everything related to data manipulation. It also allowed me to understand the way a big company works — especially from results to improvement of sales, and between business developers and sales teams."

Outside of work, Léa made the most of every moment in Bratislava. Most of her free time was spent with close friends exploring the city — discovering new neighbourhoods, trying local spots, and simply enjoying the vibrant energy that Bratislava has to offer.

"It's the kind of experience that reminds you an internship abroad is about so much more than the office."

Jean in a role of Invoicing Specialist Intern

Jean approached his Bratislava internship with curiosity and a readiness to take on whatever came his way. As an Invoicing Specialist Intern, he quickly found himself navigating a wide range of responsibilities — and discovering a side of Slovakia he hadn't expected to love so much.

Along the way, he built a strong set of practical skills — from drafting professional emails in English and mastering Excel formulas and template creation, to contributing to the implementation of new AI systems. He also developed broader competencies in organisation, analysis, and working effectively across multiple information sources.

"I also learned to deal with the implementation of new AI systems — alongside more general skills like organisation, memory, analysis, and the use of diverse sources."

One of the things that struck Jean most about Slovakia was the calm, measured relationship between people and authority — a contrast he noticed compared to life back home in France. It's the kind of cultural nuance you only pick up when you're truly immersed in a place. His favourite moments came from the natural world — walks near the Danube, weekends in the Tatras mountain range, and the deeply satisfying feeling of returning home after a long, challenging hike. He also visited museums (with a particular fondness for natural history), explored cities, read fantasy novels, and sharpened his chess game.

Jean also appreciates the support and help received during his stay.

"Help was provided when needed. Especially when one time I forgot my keys inside my flat — help came quickly and outside of office hours. So finally I suffered few consequences from this mistake of mine, thanks to the support of the team."

When it comes to making the most of an internship abroad, Jean's guidance is refreshingly practical and genuine:

"Try to eat local food. Do not hesitate to lose yourself a bit — that cannot hurt that much."

Two stories, one message

Whether you're drawn to the analytical world of data, the precision of finance and operations, or simply the adventure of living and working in a new country — Léa and Jean's stories show that a Placement Slovakia internship delivers on all fronts. Real work, real growth, and real memories.

If you're a student ready to take that next step, we'd love to be part of your story too!
