Antoine Guichaoua: I didn't expect anything, but the result was beyond any expectations.

Back

Antoine Guichaoua, a student from France, came to Bratislava for his internship as a Support Project and Communication Intern.

Before he came to Slovakia for the internship, he didn't have any particular worries, just curiosity about what awaited him:

“I wasn't expecting anything to be honest, just a lot of curiosity about Slovakia. The result was beyond any expectations.”

That openness paid off quickly, as Antoine found excellent support from his mentor and colleagues from the very start:

“10/10, always there whenever I had a question or needed help for something.”

Additionally, one common problem students have is turning academic knowledge into real, applicable skills. Internships are of paramount importance in this situation, as they let students deepen their understanding in a professional setting. Antoine shared the same experience here:

“I deepened my understanding of AI, its applications, how to raise adoption, creating training materials. About project management as well, processes within the company, how to communicate in corporate, specific communication styles plus learning how to work with people and the hierarchy to further everyone's goal.”

The most important part is that our interns gain experience in working on real projects and take on real responsibility. This experience helps them develop personally & professionally by gaining new skills and knowledge. Antoine described his tasks as following:

“I was helping gathering material resources, developing learning places, tracking projects.”

Besides work, there is a wonderful opportunity to explore Slovakia and experience a new culture. For Antoine, one of the most interesting things was the country's location and the outdoor culture:

“One of many interesting parts of Slovakia was its proximity with so many countries, making it easy to travel from one to another… One cultural difference with France would be related to how outdoor people are. Giving the feeling you can go to any remote place of the country, at any time, and you'll meet people walking, doing sport or chilling near a nice spot.”

At the same time, the most pleasant experience was meeting new people and forming unforgettable bonds, in a place that pushed him to bring out the best in himself. So, for his future plans, Antoine wants to finish his studies as soon as possible and find a job abroad again.

“The most pleasant part was meeting a whole bunch a new people with whom I created unforgettable bonds. Being always active and doing something I found meaningful, this place is helping you to bring out the best of yourself.”

As advice for interns, Antoine shared that newcomers should speak to as many people as possible and enjoy the experience to the fullest.

“I would advise them to speak to as many people as possible and enjoy the experience as much as possible.”

We are glad to have had Antoine as an intern through our program and wish him success in his further plans.
