Mr. Fábio Pinto from the University of Coimbra, Portugal - HR Coordinator EMEA, Slovakia

Time to read about the experience of another intern - Fábio Pinto from Portugal! He is studying at the University of Coimbra. Position on the internship - HR Coordinator EMEA.

We asked Fabio to describe briefly his work tasks during the internship: “As an intern it's always difficult to have a clear picture of what are the tasks awaiting us in practical terms, but I would say it was pretty much in accordance with what I imagined. My main tasks consisted in: distributing to the team the different questions we received in our team's queue from other employees, sending emails about the team performance and company updates, sending reminders, updating company's distribution lists, preparing contracts... The extra time would be used to help the team replying to the questions asked”.

The main skill that he improved is problem-solving. Problem-solving helps to determine why an issue is happening and how to resolve that problem. It's one of the key skills that employers seek in job applicants. Problem-solving starts with identifying the issue, coming up with solutions, implementing those solutions, and evaluating their effectiveness.

What about general company support and mentors?? How was it? “Very good. Patience team members and helpful.” We cannot skip the most pleasant part of Fabio’s work. He shared that feeling motivated to come to the office to learn something new and interact with people was the most enjoyable part.

Talking about the difficult part of his work life, Fabio answered: “Not knowing what people around me are saying when they speak the local language.”

Meeting a new work culture and people - was the most pleasant part of Erasmus+ internship experience in Slovakia for our intern and not speaking the local language - the most difficult.

What about recommendations for new coming interns? “ Reserve the time on weekends to travel”, - Fabio said.

From our side we wish you, Fabio, to start another stage in your life with new energy and fresh ideas, we wish not to lose skills and self-confidence. Go to work as if it were a holiday, and go home with inner warmth and a feeling of happiness. We are looking forward to meeting you again in Slovakia!
