We come to you today with a new story from one of our interns. We will share with you the experience of Piotr, who came to us from Poland and worked as a Marketing Intern in one of the biggest technology corporations. Let's get to know a little bit more about it.

This week our intern Piotr is finishing up his five-month internship, he arrived in the summer of 2023 and was a Business Psychology student in Poland. He has faced many challenges along the way, such as adapting to Slovakia, although it borders Poland, but everything was new here. And also a completely new working environment, which can distract you from your main focus and work responsibilities. However, during his internship Piotr made a lot of new acquaintances, found solutions to non-standard situations and, what is very important, acquired valuable practical skills that he will need in his future career path.

Here's what Piotr says about his challenges at work, “I was marketing content Syndicate, and my main task was to take care of cross-selling ads on our partners' websites. The most enjoyable part of my job is precisely about my coworkers, my mentor, and the atmosphere in the office. There was no pressure at all, if I make mistakes no one overreacts to me. I always had enough time at first to finish my assignments and completely figure out what exactly I was doing. Of course, when I started to fully understand all the tasks, there were a lot more deadlines and I had to work at a faster pace, and sometimes it was stressful for me if I didn't get something done, or if the program I was working in simply crashed and there was nothing you could do. But still, these situations gave me a very serious stamina, self-control and I started not to be afraid to take full responsibility for my tasks.”

We also asked Piotr how he spent his time out of work, “I was able to travel a little bit in Europe, I met a lot of young people, who are interns like me who are taking part in this program. Sometimes I attended events that were held just in Bratislava itself, but to be honest, I didn't have so much time for that because I still had to pay a lot of attention to my university studies.”

Is there anything you'd like to share with newcomers? “Actually, I would like to tell the guys not to worry so much, it may sound very simple and obvious, but it is us and our fears that are the barrier to becoming who we want to be. Everything takes time, and to learn something, and to understand something, the main thing is to accept and be open to all the opportunities that are out there.”

We are very happy for Piotr that he was able to take part in our Placement Slovakia program, he was an intern in a multinational corporation, and his professional growth was noted by both the managers of the company and the people who worked with him. We really hope that this experience was valuable for Piotr, and we want to see as many students as possible who are willing to test their strengths and go for the challenge of destiny.
